What’s available for seniors through the Health Department

This program give seniors a chance to sit down with a registered nurse and discuss their health care concerns in more detail. Nurses provide individual health education, including the importance of good nutrition, proper exercise and rest, cancer detection, understanding medications, senior eye health, and other specific topics. If a health problem is found, the client is referred to the appropriate health care provider, such as a physician, dentist, etc. This program is offered at several locations throughout Muskingum County.

The Community Wellness Program is available to all Muskingum County residents age 55 and older.

As our population continues to age, more seniors are seeking health care services than ever before. But many seniors say they feel rushed when they see their physician. They say they want to better understand their health care options.

This program provides education only and does not replace a physicians care.

The Community Wellness Program is free. However, your support of the Health Department Levy keeps the program running.
