Plumbing Inspection & Plan Approval
Certified plumbing inspectors ensure and maintain the safety of our water supply. The Zanesville-Muskingum County Health Department inspects backflow devices, water heaters, and new and remodeled plumbing installations. When complaints about incorrectly installed plumbing or permit compliance arise, inspectors investigate and work to remedy problems.

 

Food Service Plan Review Must Be Done First!

A Food Service Plan Review must be done first by the Health Department having jurisdiction before plumbing plans will be reviewed and approved. Counties are as follows: Coshocton City, Coshocton County, Morgan County, Muskingum County, City of Zanesville. After plumbing permit has been purchased, a copy will be sent to Health Department that has jurisdiction via fax.

Contractor Registration
The Zanesville-Muskingum County Health Department requires registration for all contractors installing plumbing. To apply to register as a plumber in Muskingum County, please email Ann Moorehead, Environmental Administrative Assistant or call 454-9741 extension 226.
