School Health Nursing

The School Nursing Program supports the provision of quality health services in schools to promote student health and success. The following schools contract with the Health Department to provide public health nurses who maintain health records, provide mandatory screenings and attend to the health needs of students in their school systems:

Foxfire Center for Student Success
Franklin Local Schools
Maysville Schools
Starlight School and Workshop Muskingum County DD
West Muskingum Schools

Muskingum County Juvenile Court
Muskingum County Juvenile Court contracts with the Health Department to provide public health nurse services. They administer physical assessments to all detainees within 72 hours of admission. Medication assessments, pregnancy testing and injury care are provided.
